CAIRO – The Arab League Council asserted its support to all of Egypt’s efforts to confront the repercussions of the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip.
The council expressed in a declaration following a meeting held at the level of permanent delegates under Morocco’s chairmanship and at Palestine’s request, its support to the steps taken by Egypt to protect its national security, which is part of the Arab national security.
The council denounced the continued Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people, the targeting of more than 100,000 Palestinian civilians and the systematic destruction that is taking place in the Gaza Strip.
The declaration warned against the unprecedented catastrophic conditions in the Palestinian city of Rafah and the forced displacement of around 1.5 million Palestinians.
The council denounced the continued Israeli aggression on Syria and Lebanon including the killing of civilians and destruction of houses and infrastructure.
