The Arab League (AL) has condemned in the strongest terms all racist and terrorist practices by Israel against the Palestinian people.
AL assistant secretary general for the occupied lands Saeid Abu Ali, in statements Sunday, slammed what he called Israel’s “systematic violations of basic human rights”, which include the use of violence and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people through forced displacement, settlement activities, house demolitions and sacrilege.
He was speaking on the 75th anniversary of the Deir Yassin massacre.
He called for a serious stance by the world community to deter such crimes and to pressure Israel to immediately abide by relevant international legitimacy resolutions, especially the two-state solution.
On the morning of April 9, 1948, following a tight siege and mortar bombardment, around 130 paramilitaries from the Jewish gangs of Irgun and Stern forced their way into the Palestinian village of Deir Yassin, less than a mile from the suburbs of Jerusalem, and began house-to-house assaults.
