The Arab League (AL) condemned in the strongest possible terms the killing of Palestinian journalist Sherin Abu Aqleh by Israeli soldiers in the northern West Bank city of Jenin.
Such heinous crimes aim to suppress the truth and freedom through the continued assault in Jenin governorate, he added on Wednesday.
In a statement, the pan-Arab body, held Israeli forces fully responsible for the death of the Palestinian journalist. It also underlined the need of holding international investigation into Abu Aqleh’s killing.
Urgent actions must be taken to hold those responsible for this crime accountable, according to the statement.
Meanwhile, the AL Assistant Secretary General for Palestine and the occupied Arab territories Saeed Abu Ali said that Palestine lost a veteran media figure. He also extended heartfelt condolences to Abu Aqleh’s death. He also wished a speedy recovery to Ali Samoudi, who was shot by a live bullet in the back.
