CAIRO – Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit discussed Monday with President of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) Csaba Kőrösi a host of regional and international issues.
During the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UNGA in New York, Abul Gheit was keen to congratulate Kőrösi on his election as the UNGA’s President, voicing hope that the upcoming phase would witness greater attention to the international crises facing hundreds of millions of people in the developing world, who already struggling with impacts of climate change and food security, said the AL’s spokesman Gamal Roshdy.
Abul Gheit also affirmed that the UNGA will always be the platform to declare the principles that garner international support, including the need to end the Israeli occupation, added the spokesman.
Kőrösi, meanwhile, briefed the AL chief on the most pressing issues that are dominating the international agenda.
