CAIRO – Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit Sunday mourned three soldiers from the UAE Armed Forces and an officer from the Bahrain Defense Force, who were killed in a terrorist attack at a military base in Somalia’s capital.
UAE personnel had been training soldiers from the Somali Armed Forces as part of military cooperation between Somalia, the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The secretary general offered heartfelt condolences for the families of the martyrs and wished speedy recovery for troops injured in the attack.
Earlier Sunday, the UAE’s Defense Ministry said three of its troops and an officer from the Bahrain Defense Force were killed, while two others injured in a terrorist attack in Mogadishu.
