RAFAH – A convoy of humanitarian aid trucks began entering the Karam Abu Salem crossing in southeastern Gaza on Sunday in the wake of the ten-hour humanitarian pause announced by Israeli forces in three Gaza areas: Gaza City, Deir al Balah, and Khan Younis.
Aid trucks left Rafah border terminal earlier in the day towards Karam Abu Salem crossing as part of efforts to alleviate humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
The Egyptian Red Crescent is overseeing the entry of aid trucks into Gaza with food and medical supplies on board.
Israeli forces blocked humanitarian aid after the collapse of the first ceasefire in March. Aerial bombardments resumed on March 18, followed by ground operations in previously evacuated areas.
Aid deliveries resumed in May under a new Israeli-enforced mechanism involving a US security firm despite objections from UNRWA.
