Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation El Sayyed El Quseir asserted Tuesday the depth of strategic co-operation between Egypt and Russia in view of identical viewpoints between the two countries’ political leaderships.
This came during the minister’s meeting with Russian company officials operating in the field of manufacturing agricultural equipment in all its forms.
Russian Trade Representative in Cairo Alexey Tevanyan attended the meeting.
During the meeting, El Quseir said that the Ministry’s top priority in the current phase is to provide agricultural equipment for junior farmers to reduce production costs, noting that he has assigned the officials of the ministry to assess the needs of the Egyptian market from equipment and its types to prepare a database in this regard.
Meanwhile, Alexey voicaed happiness over increasing the volume of Egyptian-Russian trade exchange especially the Egyptian agricultural products by 30 per cent over the past year.
Also, head of the foreign relations at the Russian side asserted that Moscow is currently participating in Sahara Expo in Cairo with the aim of expanding the use of Russian agricultural equipment with the objective of achieving food security as well as in light of Egypt’s interest in upgrading the agricultural sector and increase the agricultural products.
