RAMALLAH – At least 44 civilians were killed since the early hours of Thursday as Israeli forces carried out intense airstrikes and artillery shelling on multiple areas across the Gaza Strip.

According to WAFA correspondent, 27 people were killed in the Gaza City and north Gaza governorates, 14 in Khan Yunis, and three in the central governorate.

Among the victims were four civilians killed in a strike on a group of people in the Zeitoun neighborhood southeast of Gaza City, and a woman who was killed in artillery shelling in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood. Another three civilians were killed in an Israeli strike on Jabalia town, northern Gaza.

In central Gaza, one civilian was killed by Israeli artillery fire in Wadi As-Salqa, east of Deir al-Balah.

The total death toll in Gaza since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, has now reached 56,156. At least 132,239 others have been injured.
