RAMALLAH – More than 32,000 Palestinians have been displaced by an ongoing Israeli offensive targeting refugee camps in the northern West Bank, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) said in a statement.
UNRWA’s Director of Operations in the West Bank Roland Friedrich stated that the destruction in the northern West Bank refugee camps has continued relentlessly for more than ten months since the start of the Israeli occupation aggression. Jenin, Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps have been completely emptied, leaving approximately 32,000 residents forcibly displaced as these camps have turned into ghost towns.
The UNRWA’s official added that the occupation army continues to issue new demolition orders under the pretext of “military purposes.”
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), 1,012 Palestinians, including 215 children, were killed in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, during the period from October 7, 2023, to November 3, 2025. The data indicate an unprecedented rise in violence over the past two years.
