CAIRO – The Foreign Ministry announced that the Egyptian Embassy in Hungary has succeeded through coordination with the Egyptian Civil Aviation Ministry and EgyptAir to arrange the return of 30 Egyptian evacuees (mostly students) to Cairo on board a flight operated by EgyptAir from Budapest airport.
In a press statement on Friday, the Foreign Ministry said this comes as part of the sustained efforts by the state to care for its nationals abroad especially in light of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, adding that the Egyptian embassies in the countries neighboring Ukraine are exerting their utmost efforts to bring home the Egyptian nationals from Ukraine.
The ministry statement made it clear that Egyptian Ambassador in Budapest Mohammed Al Shenawy and the embassy staff will head later in the day for Budapest airport to bid farewell to the Egyptians flying home and check on their travel measures.
The Egyptian Embassy in Budapest continues its coordination with the Hungarian authorities concerned to ease the passage of Egyptian nationals via the Ukrainian-Hungarian borders, added the statement.
The Egyptian Embassy will also work on providing interim residence places for the Egyptians coming from Ukraine to Hungary in addition to providing all possible care to them, the statement said.
