Vital sectors in Egypt not affected by global technical malfunction

CAIRO – Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, stated that vital sectors in Egypt were not affected by the global technical malfunction.

Talaat explained, in statements to Extra News on Friday, that vital sectors such as telecommunications, internet, banking transactions, airports, and seaports were not affected by the global technical outage. He confirmed that no users have reported any service disruptions.

He pointed out that he has communicated with officials in all these sectors and confirmed that they have not been affected so far. He also communicated with the Minister of Civil Aviation and confirmed that air traffic is running smoothly.

Regarding taking any proactive measures to protect against the potential global technical malfunction, the minister explained that there is no proactive technical measure beyond what is currently in place. He added that the nature of the technical crisis is still under investigation globally.
