Dara Khosrowshahi, Chief Executive Officer of Uber Technologies Inc, met with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, in a virtual roundtable discussion organised by the US Egypt Business Council, along with other leading US investors in Egypt.
During the discussion, Khosrowshahi reaffirmed Uber’s ongoing commitment to the Egyptian market. He stated how determined Uber has been to deliver a much broader economic impact in the market, having supported 5 million riders who rely on Uber for access to safe and reliable transportation, as well as creating economic opportunities for more than 200,000 Egyptian drivers so far. Egypt has proven to be a dynamic market, making it one of the most important to Uber globally.
Khosrowshahi concluded that Uber will continue to invest in Egypt, leveraging its technology to make affordable transportation available to more Egyptians.
