“Simplex” for industrial solutions and software announced the establishment of a new factory on an area of 5,000 square metres in the 10th of Ramadan Industrial Zone with the aim of producing Computerised Numerical Control (CNC) machines that will be supplied to the local market and exported to neighbouring markets. The move comes within the framework of the state’s orientations to localise the local industry and expand the export of locally manufactured products.
The digital control machines are used to facilitate manufacturing operations in various fields of industry through cutting, drilling, bending and piercing metallic and non-metallic materials such as wood and marble, a senior company official said.
Eng Ahmed Shaaban, CEO of the company, said that Simplex has an ambitious plan to increase production rates of CNC machines in order to meet the needs of the local market and to export surplus to neighbouring countries.
“The company aims to open export markets in 15 countries during the next three years to be receiving 35% to 40% of its production capacity from CNC machines manufactured locally,” he added.
He stressed that the company is also keen to give specialised training courses for technicians and workers to operate CNC machines of all kinds, in addition to providing all technical support and maintenance services to customers locally and globally, through an approved network of distributors.
The company also seeks to localise the CNC machine industry through joint co-operation with some major industrial bodies and institutions in light of the expansion of local manufacturing projects and the possibility of creating new export opportunities, explaining that the last period witnessed intensive discussions with the “Arab Organisation for Industrialisation” to exploit its production lines.
Mohamed Mansour, director of the company’s sales and marketing sector, said that Simplex has an ambitious strategy to increase its sales volume by offering a package of programmes and credit facilities to encourage young people enter into industrial projects.
