The initiators of Sahel App – the leading Egyptian company in electronic payment and collection services which commenced its business in the year 2020 – have reviewed the company’s strategic plan to provide recharging services for electricity metres and other daily services that customers need through the smart application.
The move is in tandem with Egypt’s persisting efforts to including digital transformation as a way of life, relying on digital tools to provide services that facilitate the daily lives of citizens, and focusing on using the latest technologies to provide government services, a senior company official said.
Abdullah Assal, Managing Director of Delta Payments Company which owns Sahel, stressed his pride in providing such a service that contributes to improving citizens’ lives, making services easier and faster, and at the same time providing a secure protection umbrella for one of the most important daily services.
The application of Sahel began in 2020, in conjunction with the Coronavirus pandemic, with a main aim of curbing the spread of infection, and coinciding with state directives of providing all services through digital platforms and mobile applications, where there are more than 30 million residential/commercial units pay their obligations monthly through traditional methods, he said.
He added that the application succeeded in reaching more than 500,000 downloads, and obtained the highest ratings from customers amounting to 4.7/5.0 on the App Store and Android application stores. There is in addition to completing millions of financial transactions through an easy way.
Assal explained that “Sahel” is co-operating with a large number of service providers such as banks and telecom companies to allow payment through electronic wallets, various applications and bank smartcards, stressing that it has added more than 50 new payment services to transform the application into a comprehensive application for all daily payment services.
These services include in the foremost the public services utilities such as (electricity – water – gas) in addition to telephone and mobile services, donations, university fees and various subscriptions.
