Randa Moataz founded The Copywriter, an edutainment platform for creatives seeking professional guidance, enabling entrepreneurs to find the most suitable content and media to reflect the value of their businesses.

Egyptian Gazette: Why is the passion that drives you?

Randa Moataz: Copywriting. We were finding it hard to find a community that speaks to copywriters in the Middle East, reflecting their daily needs, their dreams and concerns, and sharing the stories behind the campaigns. In 2018, we founded a community where every copywriter feels heard and appreciated.

Through our tried and tested various marketing strategies, we identified the real issues in the copywriting industry. For example, business owners need copywriting services that faithfully their real image without clichés.

EG: What is your background?

RM: Having graduated from Al-Alsun in 2011in English and Italian, I started as a transcriber for Nielsen Research, moving into marketing with different agencies. Now as head of community management at Mortimer Harvey Egypt, I found my full-time passion in brand stories that matter and building long-lasting relationships through words. I have worked with a number of well-known local brands. Finally, I found my way to communicate good copy to advertising through the power of writing from the heart and educating them about the rules of copywriting through an educational platform, The Copywriter.

EG: What are the issues you are solving? What is your value proposition?

RM: Finding educated Arabic sources in copywriting and advertising and finding talent for business. Helping brands communicate their values without using cliche is another problem.

EG: what is your value proposition?

RM: An edutainment platform for those who need guidance from the professionals and business owners who need copywriting services in a light-hearted tone tailored exclusively for the MENA region.

EG: What are your achievements to date?

RM: The publication of 5000 pieces of content. The training of more than 1,000 people. 500 workshops. 20 masterclasses. The Copywriter came in second place for the HER Incubator competition in March 2021. We have a great community where copywriters feel home serving 50 clients with cliché-free copy.

EG: Tell us more about the process, users and business model.

RM: Provide training courses in copywriting, scriptwriting, and content creation and provide copywriting services for the businesses and startups that need value-based copywriting and branding services.

E: Do you think the entrepreneurial ecosystem is helping you?

RM: I believe I have got the support from the network that knew us, but I am still seeking high exposure to find investing opportunities to establish a tech-copy company in the future.
