Jumia launches free shipping services on prepayments through JumiaPay

As a part of its leadership in providing logistics services across the country, Jumia, the leading e-commerce platform in Egypt, announced its new free delivery service to all the Egyptians on its platform via JumiaPay..

This step comes as a part of Jumia’s support to the country to move toward digital transformation and financial inclusion and reduce usage of physical cash. It will further motivate everyone to adapt to digital financial and banking services, purchase through electronic platforms to benefit from all the offers and rewards.

Eng. Hisham Safwat, CEO of Jumia Egypt, affirmed that “Our goal is to maintain the health of our customers in light of the spread of the new pandemic Covid-19, therefore we launched free shipping services via JumiaPay to all governorates, which is considered as a safe and easy online payment through Jumia platform. Jumia also aims to encourage and inspire customers to use electronic payment systems to be able to move toward a cashless society. Moreover, “Electronic” payment through JumiaPay ensures cashless payments between customers and couriers, which in turn will help reduce the risk of spreading Coronavirus.”

The new service launched by Jumia today is considered as a quick response to customer requests, especially in Egyptian the governorates and provinces, in order to reduce the burden of delivery on customers and allow all customers to shop and buy on the Jumia platform without any restrictions. Jumia is committed to delivering all products and goods as soon as possible, as this free shipping service for all governorates, is considered to be an unprecedented service in the Egyptian market.
