Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat lauded winning entrepreneurship projects in a contest that was held on the sidelines of the Grand Summit of the G20-Digital Innovation Alliance (G-20-DIA) in the Indian city of Bangalore.

Talaat’s remarks came during his meeting with Egyptian entrepreneurs who took part in the competition, following his participation in the G20 ministerial gathering on the digital economy in India, according to a statement released by the Communications Ministry on Sunday.

During the meeting, the minister congratulated Egyptian entrepreneurs for winning the projects that included creative ideas and innovative solutions in various fields that reflect the excellence and creativity of Egyptian youth.

Talaat stressed his ministry’s keenness to support start-ups and encourage digital creativity and entrepreneurship across the country.

The contest saw the participation of five Egyptian start-ups out of 114 world emerging companies.

The competition, which ran from August 17 to 19, covered agricultural technology, health technology, educational technology, financial technology, secured digital infrastructure and circular economy.
