CAIRO – Egyptian Communication and Information Technology Minister Amr Talaat conferred on Friday with Spanish Ambassador in Cairo Ramon Gil Casares on means of boosting cooperation between Egypt and Spain in the field of communication and information technology especially the mechanisms of luring Spanish investments to Egypt.
During the meeting, Talaat asserted that Egypt was keen on cooperating with Spain in the fields of electronics industry, technological innovation as well as digital transformation.
The minister said Cairo is looking forward to opening new horizons of partnership between the two countries in offering digital services with high quality, praising the vast expertise of Spain in such fields.
He briefed the Spanish ambassador on steps to establish a research and innovation center in the Knowledge City in the New Administrative, adding that the center will involve 40 specialized companies in the fields of design and manufacturing of electronic systems and control circuits.
The Spanish ambassador, for his part, said that cooperation with Cairo over the past years bore fruit in upgrading digital applications and advanced technologies between companies from both sides.
In view of the two countries’ cooperation, Spain and Egypt renewed a memorandum of understanding between The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and the Spanish Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI).
