Dr. Sharif Farouk, Chairman of Egypt Post has received Mr. Sami Dawud, Chairman of Jordan Post at Egypt Post premises in Smart Village to discuss ways to boost mutual cooperation relations and exchange expertise between the two countries. The meeting was attended by Ms. Asma Awaysha, Economic Advisor of the Jordanian Embassy to Cairo, and Osama Qutaish, Director of Marketing, Jordan Post and from Egypt Post, Mr. Ehab Aboubakr, Vice Chairman for Digital Transformation. Mr. Khaled Emam, Vice Chairman for Financial Inclusion, Mr. Hatem El Soly, Head of Quality Division, Ms. Nermin Hassan, Head of International Cooperation Division and Mr. Youssef Elsebaay, Head of Business Development Division, WAVZ Company, the technical arm of Egypt Post.
During the meeting Dr. Sharif Farouk, stressed the depth of relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, noting that the visit of the Chairman of Jordan Post aims at discussing aspects of mutual cooperation, exchanging expertise and sharing Egypt Post success story in implementing digital transformation, financial inclusion, developing services system and transferring successful expertise in postal field between the two countries. Furthermore, he added that Egypt Post is keen to open new horizons of mutual cooperation with Jordan Post, with a goal to offer distinguished postal and financial services to citizens in both countries.
From his part, Mr. Sami Dawud, Chairman of Jordan Post said “This visit comes within the framework of the distinguished fraternal relations between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and big sister the Arab Republic of Egypt, whose foundations were established by His Majesty King Abdullah II, and His Excellency his brother, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Followed by the results of the Jordanian-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee meetings, held recently in the Jordanian capital, Amman and witnessed the signature of an agreement on money transfer”. He stressed Jordan Post endeavors to discuss various areas of postal cooperation and increase their prospects with Egypt Post and facilitate e-commerce between the two countries.
During the meeting, Mr. Sami Dawud expressed his thanks to Egypt Post for the warm reception and good spirit he felt in his second country, Egypt, indicated the importance of strengthening mutual cooperation, exchanging expertise between Egypt Post and Jordan Post and transferring Egypt Post success story in infrastructure, technology, modernizing post offices, developing postal services, e-commerce, implementing financial inclusion and digital transformation.
He also added that Egypt Post development process over the last years is a breakthrough made it a role model for Arab and international postal authorities, and welcomed the transfer of Egypt Post pioneering and distinguished knowhow to Jordan Post. Furthermore, he wished good luck, success to the Egypt Post and that the period to come witnesses more cooperation to achieve interconnection and integration between the two countries.
Dr. Sharif Farouk, Chairman of Egyptian Post accompanied Mr. Sami Dawud, Chairman of Jordan Post on a tour of Smart Village modernized post office, equipped with up to date systems and technological solutions to provide all financial, postal, governmental and Digital Egypt services to citizens efficiently. Moreover, Mr. Abdo Elwan, Vice Chairman for Postal Zones Affairs, accompanied Mr. Sami Dawud on another tour of Cairo historic main post office and the postal museum containing many antique collections that document history of post throughout ages, where he expressed his admiration of the historical collections in postal museum, in addition to Cairo historic main post office that is considered an architectural masterpiece.
