In continuation of the role the B.TECH, the pioneering chain of selling and distributing electrical and electronic devices in Egypt, plays for achieving sustainable development, Dr Mahmoud Khattab, Chairman and Managing Director of the company, visited Baheya Zayed Hospital and signed a co-operation protocol with Baheya Foundation with a main aim of supporting Egyptian women.
As part of the protocol, the chain will be donating more than LE1.5 million for equipping three rooms inside the hospital and treating a number of women, under an initiative entitled “Baheya is in the Back of Every Egyptian Woman”.
This initiative, Chairman Khattab said, is included within the B.TECH joint journey with Baheya Foundation, which dates back more than five years ago, and is added to the B.TECH’s other societal initiatives aimed at supporting women.
He also praised the important role the Baheya Foundation plays for the free treatment and early detection of breast cancer, which is one of the most important factors that help in recovery.
“This co-operation protocol includes implementing an awareness campaign for early detection of breast cancer through social media platforms, the company’s various branches, and within the B.TECH School for Applied Technology throughout the year. It also includes directing a specialized team from Baheya Hospital to educate all B.TECH employees on how to detect breast cancer early, what are the methods of treating it and how to deal with it or dealing with the patient. There will be awareness videos within the company’s branches to assist and educate customers,” he said.
“We always strive to contribute effectively to social responsibility projects for the social, economic and health welfare of the Egyptian community via launching a number of initiatives that serve this end,” he added.
