As the countdown to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles begins, among the promising names bubbling up in the Egyptian squash scenario, a name comes up: Zeyad Moustafa, known as Ziad Roshdy. Zeyad was born in 1996 and represents as an Egyptian squash coach who, very fast, established himself as one of the best squash coaches in Egypt since he turned a full-time Squash Director at Smouha Club in Alexandria, Egypt in 2023.
Zeyad was a professional squash player in New York City, United States Of America. Zeyad was noted for his predominant performances on the squash court and respected for phenomenal speed and his superb mental toughness inside the court. These attributes helped him connect easily with his players and inspire them, translating into his coaching style that helps him be one of the coaches for top players in Egypt.
Currently, among other things, Zeyad trains several elite national junior players, most of them among the top three in the country. The achievements of his athletes are not only reaching their personal bests but also ready to successfully compete at the highest levels internationally. Zeyad not only trains elite national squash champions, but also trains several professional players
What really sets him apart, however, is a never-ending passion for talent development. Not many coaches in a country known for its squash talent can boast of as much experience and instinct as he does. And the passion for the sport and for his players comes through in the way he has approached every training session: pushing them to their highest potential.
In this regard, and looking forward to the Olympics, it is important that we support coaches like Zeyad Moustafa, who uniquely enables promising young men to achieve excellence in squash.
