Zamalek wins as Al-Ahly held in Egyptian Premier League

Zamalek and Enppi claimed victories in the 31st week of the Egyptian Premier League as defending champions Al-Ahly and Al-Ittihad of Alexandria held to draw against El-Geish and Ceramica Cleopatra respectively.

At the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo, Zamalek defeated Wadi Degla 1-0 on Tuesday night.

The White Knights’ goal came from striker Marwan Hamdi in the 59th minutes.

The result cemented Zamalek on top of the domestic league with 73 points from 31 matches as Wadi Degla remained at 17th place with 25 points from 31 matches.

Also on Tuesday, defending champions Al-Ahly held to a 0-0 draw against Talae el-Geish at the Suez Military Stadium.

The draw kept the Red Devils in second place with 69 points from 31 matches as they trail Zamalek by four points with three matches left to play.

Talae el-Geish remained at 8th place with 39 points from 31 matches.

Elsewhere, Enppi stunned Ismaili 2-1 at Petrosport Stadium in Cairo also on Tuesday.

Enppi’s goals came from centre-forward John Ebuka in the 34th minutes as attacking midfielder Moustafa Shalaby added the second in the 47th minutes. Striker Shoukry Naguib scored Ismaili’s sole goal in the 63rd minutes.

The victory pushed Enppi to 7th place with 42 points from 31 matches as Ismaili remained at 13th place with 34 points from 31 matches.

At the same round, Al-Ittihad of Alexandria held to a 0-0 draw against Ceramica Cleopatra at Alexandria Stadium.

The draw kept Ceramica Cleopatra in 9th place with 38 points from 31 matches as Al-Ittihad remained at 6th place with 43 points from 31 matches.
