CAIRO – Zamalek was held to a goalless draw by Modern Sport, while Petrojet secured a win over El-Gouna in the 2024–25 Egypt Capital Cup.

Zamalek 0–0 Modern Sport
In the fourth-round Group A match at Cairo International Stadium, Zamalek played to a 0–0 draw against Modern Sport.
The result leaves Group A standings as follows: Petrojet leads with 12 points, followed by Modern Sport and El-Gouna with 4 points each. Zamalek is in fourth place with 2 points, while Smouha remains at the bottom with no points.

The first half was largely uneventful, marked by a lack of clear scoring opportunities and heightened tension in midfield due to physical play from both sides.
Zamalek attempted to take control through midfielders Seif Farouk Gafar, Nasser Maher, and Mahmoud Gihad, who tried to build attacks from deep positions. However, they were repeatedly thwarted by Modern Sport’s disciplined defensive line.
Despite some attempts to test Zamalek’s goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi, the visitors failed to convert.

In the second half, both teams pushed for a breakthrough. Zamalek increased the tempo and applied pressure, but Modern Sport held firm to secure the stalemate.
Petrojet 1–0 El-Gouna
Petrojet continued their impressive run with a 1–0 victory over El-Gouna at Petro Sport Stadium in another Group A encounter.

The only goal of the match came in the 82nd minute when forward Rashad el-Metwally converted a penalty, awarded after Ahmed Farouk was fouled by El-Gouna’s Ahmed Shousha inside the box.

With this win, Petrojet maintained their perfect record, securing qualification for the quarter-finals after four consecutive victories.
