Cairo powerhouse Zamalek, Al-Ittihad of Alexandria and Ismaili claimed victories in their matches in the 26th week of the 2020-21 Egyptian Premier League season.
At Cairo International Stadium, Zamalek defeated Aswan 3-0 on Thursday night.
The White Knights’ goals came from winger Ahmed Sayed ‘Zizo’ in the 33rd, 75th minutes and Tunisian forward Seif Jaziri in the 88th minute.
The victory cemented Zamalek on top of the domestic league with 58 points from 26 matches as Aswan remained at 15th place with 24 points from 25 matches.
Elsewhere, Ismaili beat Ghazl el-Mahalla 3-1 at the Ismaili Stadium also on Thursday.
Tunisian striker Fakhreddine Ben Youssef scored for Ismili in the 44th minute and Namibian forward Benson Shilongo scored twice in the 69th, 89th minutes as El-Mahallah left-back player Fathi Mabrouk scored in the 74th minute.
The result pushed Ismaili to 11th place with 32 points from 25 matches as Ghazl el-Mahalla remained at 13th place with 31 points from 26 matches.
Also on Thursady, Al-Ittihad of Alexandria defeated Misr el-Maqassa 2-1 at the Alexandria Stadium.
Striker Khaled Kamar scored twice for Al-Ittihad in the 9th and 23rd minutes as forward Bassem Morsi scored for El-Maqassa in the 39th minute.
The win pushed Al-Ittihad to 5th place with 37 points from 26 matches as Misr el-Maqassa remained at 7th place with 36 points from 25 matches.
