Zamalek and Smouha win in Egyptian Premier League

Defending champions Zamalek and Smouha claimed victories as Pyramids FC was held to draw against Ceramica Cleopatra at 16th matchday of the 2022/2023 Egyptian Premier League season.

At Cairo International Stadium, Zamalek earned a 2-1 precious victory against Future FC.

The White Knights’ goals came from Tunisian striker Seifeddine Jaziri in the 14th and 34th minutes as Future striker Marwan Mohsen scored his side’s sole goal in the 24th minute.

The victory pushed Zamalek to fourth place in the standing with 29 points from 16 matches, 8 points behind leaders Al-Ahly who played one game less.

Future FC dropped to third place with 31 points from 16 matches.

At Air Defence Stadium, Pyramids FC was held to a 2-2 draw against Ceramica Cleopatra.

Pyramids winger Ramadan Sobhi opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 18th minute as Ceramica Cleopatra playmaker Mohamed Ibrahim grabbed the equaliser in the 34th minute.

Pyramids playmaker Abdallah el-Saed added the second in the 57th minute while striker Salah Mohsen equalised for Ceramica Cleopatra in the 90th minute.

The draw left Pyramids FC to second place with 31 points from 16 matches as Ceramica Cleopatra slipped into 11th place with 18 points from 16 games.

At Petrosport Stadium in Cairo, Smouha defeated Enppi 2-0.

The Alexandrian-based club goals came from centre-back player Mahmoud Shabana in the 24th minute as winger Ahmed Moustafa added the second in the 55th minute.

The result lifts Smouha to 10th place with 19 points from 16 matches as Enppi slipped to 15th place with 13 points from 16 games.
