Egypt pays great attention to the youth and sports sector and works on grooming educated youth able to shoulder responsibility, Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi said on Tuesday.
During a meeting with Japanese Ambassador in Cairo Oka Hiroshi to discuss means of boosting future co-operation between the two countries, the minister said co-operation with Japan would contribute to achieving more progress and successes.
The meeting, which was held at the ministry Headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, dealt with means to exchange expertise and visits between youth from the two countries.
They discussed the possibility of co-operation between the two sides in various sports domains especially in Olympic games such as judo and karate which are popular in Japan.
Minister Sobhi also discussed with the Japanese envoy cooperation between the ministry and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). through a training program for young people at youth centers in Izbet El Nakhl and Helmiyet Al Zaitun, Cairo districts.
For his part the Japanese ambassador praised the level of relations between the two sides expressing keenness on boosting cooperation in various domains.
