CAIRO – The unlimited support of the political leadership to sports in Egypt placed the country high among top world countries and was behind the formal accreditation of the Egyptian Doping Control Lab by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), said Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi on Monday.
He reiterated Egypt’ s full support of WADA to spread the anti-doping culture especially among sports people.
The minister gave the remarks during a meeting with WADA chairman Witold Bańka and WADA Africa Regional Office director Rodney Swigelaar.
Sports is the soft power that brings together all peoples, WADA director said, expressing happiness over the swift and effective steps taken by Egypt in the anti-doping domain.
He lauded Egypt’s support of sports which made it an important venue of many international competitions over the past period
