CAIRO – Egyptian Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi and Cairo Governor Khalid Abdel Aal attended on Friday Cairo Half Marathon.
Earlier, the Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi said that his ministry’s support for the Cairo Marathon comes as part President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to offer more opportunities for all Egyptians to do sports.
The race is organized by Cairo Runners and ievents.
As many as 5,000 participants take part in the marathon.
All participants compete in a 21 km race starting from the Merryland Park in Heliopolis district.
Marathon Cairo has been an annual sports event in the city since 2015.
