CAIRO — Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi extended his warm congratulations to Egyptian football icon Mohamed Salah following an extraordinary season in the English Premier League.

Salah secured both the Golden Boot and Playmaker awards while breaking the record for the most combined goals and assists in a 38-game Premier League campaign—solidifying his status among football’s global elite.
Minister Sobhi applauded Salah’s outstanding achievements, highlighting how the Liverpool forward continues to raise Egypt’s profile on the international sporting stage.

“Salah is more than a symbol of sporting excellence; he is a true role model for Egyptian youth,” Sobhi remarked. “His dedication, perseverance, and relentless drive inspire future generations to aim high.”
The minister also reiterated the state’s full support for its elite athletes, emphasizing that champions like Salah embody the spirit of Egyptian ambition and success.

During the 2024–2025 season, Salah scored 29 goals and provided 18 assists, playing a pivotal role in Liverpool’s title win.
He finished six goals ahead of runner-up Alexander Isak and led assists with six more than Jacob Murphy of Newcastle United.

At 32, Salah made history as the first player to claim the Premier League’s Golden Boot, Golden Playmaker, and Player of the Season awards in a single campaign. Additionally, he was honored as the men’s Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association.
