LONDON — Mohamed Salah has moved up to sixth in the English Premier League’s all-time goalscorers’ chart, overtaking Chelsea legend Frank Lampard.

Salah scored his 177th and 178th goals in the competition in Liverpool’s 2-0 win at Bournemouth.
The Egyptian is now only six goals behind former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, who is the Premier League’s highest-scoring overseas player.
Salah’s double sealed Liverpool win at in-form Bournemouth and extended his side’s lead at the top of the English Premier League to nine points.

The 32‐year‐old forward converted a first-half penalty after VAR confirmed Lewis Cook had sent Cody Gakpo tumbling in the box and the Egypt forward struck a brilliant second after the break to secure Liverpool’s 17th league win in 23 games.
Incredibly, Salah started this season in 11th place in the all-time list, with 157 goals. Over the past few months he has overtaken Jermain Defoe (162 goals), Robbie Fowler (163), Thierry Henry (175) and Lampard (177), the English Premier League official website reported.
At his current rate of scoring he is set to overtake Aguero and Andrew Cole and move up to fourth before the end of the season.

Salah’s Liverpool contract expires this summer, so the records of Wayne Rooney, Harry Kane and all-time top scorer Alan Shearer may be safe – unless he extends his stay with the Reds.
Salah has now scored 11 Premier League goals against Bournemouth, the seventh side he’s scored 10+ against in the competition. Only Alan Shearer (12) has netted double figures against more different opponents in Premier League history.
The Egyptian now has 301 goals in his European club career in all competitions, 236 of which have come for Liverpool (20 Basel, 2 Chelsea, 9 Fiorentina, 34 Roma). He has also reached 20+ Premier League goals in a single season for the fifth time.

Salah’s brace at Bournemouth took him to a league-leading 21 goals for the season, three clear of Man City’s Erling Haaland in the race for the Golden Boot award.
Salah is looking for a fourth Golden Boot award of his career, to follow up on those won in 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2021/22. If he wins another he would equal Thierry Henry’s Premier League record of four Golden Boots won.
Arne Slot’s side rode their luck at times against a side unbeaten in 11 league games but Salah once again proved the difference as he took his league tally to 21 this season.
“It feels good to be fair, scoring goals, the team winning, it’s an incredible feeling, But I said many times before; the main target is winning the Premier League. We are going in the right direction,” Salah said.
The Egypt forward has 21 goals from 23 league games this season, reaching the 20-mark for the fifth time in his English top-flight career.
Salah has 178 career Premier League goals, moving him one ahead of Frank Lampard into sixth place in the competition’s all-time scoring chart.
Liverpool is unbeaten in 19 league games, winning 17 of their 23 top-flight matches in a remarkable run since Slot replaced Jurgen Klopp in the close-season.
Bournemouth, who remains seventh, hit the woodwork twice — through Antoine Semenyo when it was 0-0 and then Marcus Tavernier shortly before Salah wrapped up the points.
Liverpool has 56 points from 23 games, with second-placed Arsenal and Nottingham Forest on 47.
“I think slightly different but last season we were also very close to that number [of points] but again, as I’ve said before, we need to stay humble and just take it each game at a time. Focus on each game – we don’t have to think further, just think about each game,” Salah said according to liverpoolfc.
“It feels good to be fair! Scoring goals, team winning, it’s an incredible feeling. But I said it many times before that my main target this season is to win the Premier League with the team. We are going in the right direction so hopefully we can keep going like this,” Salah added.
