CAIRO — Al-Ahly fell 2-1 to Talae El-Geish in a rescheduled 15th-round clash of the Egyptian Premier League, while Pyramids FC kept the pressure on leaders Zamalek with a narrow 1-0 win over NBE Club.
The defeat leaves the Red Devils in third place, while Talae El-Geish climbs to 14th as they fight to escape the relegation zone. Pyramids’ victory maintains a tense title race, with leaders Zamalek still holding a game in hand against Enppi on Wednesday.

Al-Ahly suffered a second league defeat of the season as Talae El-Geish claimed a 2-1 win at the Military Academy Stadium.
The win marks Talae El-Geish’s first triumph over the Red Devils since 2021, a milestone that lifts them to 14th place on 22 points, while Al-Ahly remains third with 40 points.
The game started at a fast pace. In the 2nd minute, Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” drove down the left wing, but his strike was brilliantly saved by Talae El-Geish goalkeeper Emad El-Sayed.
Moments later, Mohamed Atef capitalised on a rebound from Ali Hamdi to put the hosts ahead. Al-Ahly equalised in the 22nd minute, with Hadi Riad finishing a precision pass from Achraf Bencharki.
The decisive blow came in the 61st minute when Khaled Abou Ziada powered a header past the defense after Ismail Ogoro’s initial attempt was parried. Al-Ahly pressed for an equaliser, but Talae El-Geish held firm to secure a historic victory.
