CAIRO — Egypt has kept their recent undefeated record against New Zealand with a stunning victory at the brand new 93,000-seat Egypt International Stadium in the New Administrative Capital.
The seven-time African champion defeated the All Whites 1-0 in Egypt Capital Cup clash, courtesy of a Moustafa Mohamed penalty in the first-half.
The game was part of the FIFA Series 2024 international window, with the Pharaohs now progressing to take on the victors of Croatia and Tunisia in the final of Egypt Capital Cup on Tuesday.
The African champion best chance to extend their lead came in the 79th minute, when midfielder Marwan Attia thundered a shot past New Zealand goalkeeper Crocombe into the left post from well outside the box.
