The International Handball Federation (IHF) officially opened its new headquarters in Switzerland during a special ceremony. This historic event brought together major world sports leaders, highlighting how much handball has grown globally.
The ceremony was led by IHF President Dr Hassan Moustafa, who was joined by Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee, and Mustafa Berraf, President of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa, to cut the opening ribbon.
Many important sports officials attended the event, including a high-level delegation from Egypt. Leaders such as the Minister of Youth and Sports, Captain Gohar Nabil, and Egyptian Handball Federation President, Captain Khaled Fathi, were present.
Their attendance shows Egypt’s strong position in the world of sports and its important role in supporting the growth of handball.
The new headquarters represents a major step forward for the IHF.
It serves as a base for the federation’s future plans to make the sport even more popular and professional. The opening is seen as another success for Hassan Moustafa, who has worked for years to turn handball into one of the world’s leading sports.
During the visit, Egyptian officials held meetings with the IHF to discuss hosting major international tournaments in Cairo soon. These talks, along with new partnership agreements with other countries, prove that the world has great confidence in Egypt’s ability to organise world-class sporting events.
