Kahraba shines as Al-Ahly reach Egypt Cup final 1 - Egyptian Gazette

The Red Eagles booked their place in the Egyptian Cup final with an incredible 3-1 win over Smouha SC on Tuesday at Cairo Stadium.

It was a night to remember for Mahmoud Kahraba, who set up the first two goals and added the third one to guide our team to victory.

Al Ahly will face Pyramids FC in the competition’s final.

First Half

The Red Eagles had a superb start to the game and they enjoyed a complete domination over the opposition.

Al-Ahly needed just eight minutes to open the score by Ahmed Abdelkader.

Kahraba received the ball and sent a cross that should have been easily collected by El Hany Soliman, Smouha’s goalkeeper, but the ball slipped from his hands and ended up in front of Abdelkader who put in the empty net.

Three minutes later, the Red Eagles doubled the score thanks to Hamdy Fathy’s tricky shot.

Kahraba received the ball inside Smouha’s area and passed it to Hamdy who shot the ball that Soliman let slip underneath his hands.

It was the time for Kahraba to add his name on the score sheet when he received Hussein El Shahat’s pass and chipped it over the goalkeeper with style to make the score 3-0.

Second Half

Despite having a three-goal lead the players kept trying to add more goals.

Kahraba had a chance to score the fourth goal when he went one against one with the goalkeeper and dribbled past him but the goalkeeper returned quickly to collect his shot.

It was a perfect chance for Al-Ahly manager to give the chance to the new signings as Marwan Attia joined the game in the 62th minute while Mohamed Dhaoui “Cristo” and Khaled Abdelfattah joined the game later on.

Al-Ahly conceded a late goal from the penalty spot by our loaned player and Smouha captain in the match, Hossam Hassan.

The game ended in a 3-1 win for the Red Eagles after a superb performance that our fans enjoyed ahead of the Cairo derby, scheduled on Saturday.
