Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr Ashraf Sobhi, issued Ministerial Resolution No. 1630 of 2024, restructuring the General Egyptian Sport for all Federation’s Board of Directors.
The restructuring included appointing Dr Hanan Youssef and Mr Arafa Ali as Vice-Presidents of Emad al-Banani, the current chair of the federation.

Considered to be the first woman to occupy such post, the appointment is considered milestone in recognising women’s contributions to sports.
For her part, Dr Youssef extended her profound gratitude to Dr Sobhi and Dr al-Banani for the trust they bestow to her, emphasising the significance of this step in empowering women and highlighting their contributions.
“This appointment reflects the federation’s recognition of women’s efforts, as it is the first time a woman has held this position,” she said.
It is worth noting that Dr Youssef has been a key figure in the federation since its inception in 2008, with 16 years of dedicated experience in promoting the concept of “sports for all” as a lifestyle.
She has also championed initiatives supporting women athletes and advancing sports media.
Notably, she chaired the official Egyptian delegation that achieved a groundbreaking victory in the 2024 World Cup for Development Goals, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, bringing home Egypt’s first-ever win in this global event – an achievement that showcased the nation’s sporting excellence on the world stage.
