The Egyptian Olympic Committee, headed by Yasser Idris, held a press conference to reveal preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, in the presence of Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi and French Ambassador to Cairo Eric Chevalier.
The French ambassador pledged to facilitate travel arrangements for the Egyptian delegation participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics, the minister said, adding that Paris is celebrating the 100th anniversary of hosting the 1924 Olympic Games.
So far, 173 male and female athletes have qualified for this year’s Olympics, exceeding the original target of 150, he said.
A celebration will be held with participants in the 2023 African Games, which were held in Ghana, he added.
