LONDON — Tommy Fury is set to face YouTuber KSI in a bout at AO Arena in Manchester on October 14, both camps said.
The British Boxing Board of Control will not sanction the match as a professional boxing fight, according to the BBC.
Fury, the younger half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, is undefeated in nine professional fights, with four of those victories won by knockouts.
“All that is left for me to do is send this man to sleep. I’ll do that inside four rounds,” said Fury, a previous entrant on reality television show Love Island.
In a match in Saudi Arabia in February, Fury dealt Jake Paul the first loss of his budding boxing career by securing a split decision victory.
Fury said: ‘Here we go again guys, KSI going on about how it’s my fault the contract hasn’t been signed yet.
“Just a few things to clear up, KSI has only just agreed to do drug testing for this fight and now he’s complaining about the weight.
“This fight is at 185lb, take it or leave it. I know you’re a midget and you’re worrying about the weight, but get some more food down you and you’ll get there.’
But an agreement has now been reached and the pair will square off at the back end of the year on Boxing’s PRIME card.
The weight and number of rounds are yet to be announced at the time of writing.
This will be Fury’s first fight back since beating Jake Paul via split decision in February.
Meanwhile, KSI last fought in May against Joe Fournier. The British YouTube star was initially declared the winner via knockout but the decision was later overturned to a no contest due to an accidental elbow strike in the finishing sequence.
KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olatunji, has fought in several exhibition matches, including two encounters with Jake Paul’s brother Logan.
However, KSI promised to “silence all the doubters that believe I have no chance” in what he says is “the toughest fight in the influencer boxing scene”.
“I came back to boxing to show the world the crazy levels I’m at. I’ve shown through obliterating all my past opponents that I am the best in this scene,” KSI said.
“KO after KO has now led me to the toughest fight in the influencer boxing scene. I’m fighting Tommy Fury. The man that defeated the once undefeated Jake Paul is now my opponent and I can’t wait to silence all the doubters that believe I have no chance.
Fury is unbeaten in nine professional fights, winning four by knockout.
He was expected to beat Jake Paul easily in February, but that fight went the distance and ended in a split decision in his favour.
KSI found fame with The Sidemen and is regularly involved in sketches on their YouTube channel, which has more than 18 million subscribers.
In April, he was forced to apologise for a racial slur in a YouTube video, an incident which led him to take a break from social media.
October’s card, which will be live on DAZN, is organised by Misfits Events, but instead by a body called the Professional Boxing Association (PBA).
The PBA is not the recognised sanctioning body in the UK, and KSI does not hold a professional licence in the country, so the Fury bout does not count towards professional records.
