CAIRO — The International Fencing Federation (FIE) has announced new dates for the Foil World Cup in Egypt, postponed earlier due to regional developments.
After some regional trouble forced a delay, the tournament will now run from April 16 to 19 at the Cairo International Stadium Indoor Halls Complex. Expect a big turnout – top fencers from around the world are heading to Cairo.

This updated schedule is the result of a lot of teamwork between the FIE and the Egyptian Fencing Federation, ensuring optimal organisational conditions and maximum participation.
Originally scheduled for March 5–8, the event was delayed to ensure participant safety amid airport closures and flight cancellations.
Last week, the FIE also put on hold two other major competitions in Italy and Greece, citing similar concerns and reaffirming its commitment to athlete well-being.
Egypt has emerged as a leading host for international fencing tournaments in recent years. The FIE and visiting teams have praised the country for pulling off some impressive championships.
