El-Geish edges Future; Ahly, Zamalek, NBE win in Egyptian Premier League

Talae el-Geish stunned Future FC 1-0 after National Bank of Egypt, Al-Ahly, Zamalek and Pharco FC all won in the 6th week of the Egyptian Premier League games.

At Cairo’s Military Sports Authority Stadium, Talae el-Geish clinched a 1-0 victory over Future FC.

 

Centre-back Mohamed Ali el-Geweny scored the decisive goal in the 76th minute.

The win pushed Talae el-Geish to 15th place with 5 points from 5 matches as Future FC kept in 10th place on 7 points from 6 matches.

At Petrosport Stadium in Cairo, the NBE Club defeated Arab Contractors 2-1 Friday night.

 

Right-back Osama Ibrahim opened the scoring for NBE Club in the 57th minute then Arab contractors defender Mohamed Samir equalized in the 85th minute.

 

Right-winger Mahmoud Kaoud scored the winner for NBE in the 86th minute.

The victory lifted National Bank of Egypt up to 4th place with 10 points from 6 matches as Arab contractors dropped to 14th place with 5 points from 6 matches.

 

Earlier in the day, Ismaili and Ghazl el-Mahalla had to settle for a point each as both sides lacked a cutting edge at Ismailia Stadium.

 

The draw kept Ghazl el-Mahalla in 5th place with 9 points from 6 matches as Ismaili remained winless this season at 17th place with 2 points from 6 matches.

At Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo, Al-Ahly maintained their winning start to the season as the Red Devils stunned Smouha 4-1.

 

Defender Ayman Ashraf opened the scoring for the Red Devils in the 31st minute as South African winger Percy Tau added the second in the 35th minute.

Right-winger Hussein el-Shahat scored the third in the 58th minute, then Tau, who joined Ahly in the summer from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion, added the fourth goal in the 81st minute.

Smouha’s midfielder Mohamed Metwaly Kanaria scored his side sole goal in the 57th minute.

 

The result cemented Al-Ahly on top of the domestic league with 18 points from 6 matches as Smouha remained at 12th place with 6 points from 5 matches.

At the same week, Zamalek pulled off a hard-fought 1-0 win over Ceramica Cleopatra at Arab Contractors Stadium.

Right-winger Mostafa Fathi scored the decisive goal in the 41st minute.

The victory kept Zamalek in 3rd place with 13 points from 6 matches as Ceramica Cleopatra remained at 6th place with 8 points from 6 matches.

 

Earlier in the day, Pharco FC defeated Al-Ittihad of Alexandria 2-1 at Alexandria Stadium.

Centre-back Ahmed Awad opened the scoring for Pharco in the 26th minute then midfielder Karim el-Deeb equalized in the 45th minute.

 

Striker Amr Gamal scored the winner for Pharco FC in the 87th minute.

The victory pushed Pharco FC to 4th place with 9 points from 6 matches as Al-Ittihad dropped to 7th place with 8 points from 6 matches.
