RABAT – The Egyptian U-20 Greco-Roman wrestling team won the first place in the overall standings and the African Championship Cup held in Casablanca, Morocco, from April 28 to May 5.
Egypt’s U-20 Greco-Roman wrestling team collected 10 medals; seven gold and three silver, at the end of the third day of the African Championship competitions.
The gold medals were awarded to Mohamed Abdel Bari in the 55 kg category, Ahmed Abdel Bari in the 60 kg category, Amr Ali Atta in the 63 kg category, Mohamed Shaaban El Sayed in the 72 kg category and Omar Amin in the 77 kg category, Youssef Mohamed Ibrahim, in the 130 kg category, and Mohamed Hassan Abdel Rahim, in the 67 kg category.
The silver medal winners are Yahya Emad El-Gamal in the 82 kg category, Mohamed Adel Abdel Sattar in the 87 kg category, and Youssef Walid El-Metwally in the 97 kg category.
This prestigious event brings together top-tier athletes from across the continent to compete in Greco-Roman, Freestyle, and Wrestling.
The 2025 Seniors, U20, U17 African restling Championships is the 40th edition of African Wrestling Championships of combined events.
