PARIS – Egypt’s Salma Ali finished fifth in the women’s para taekwondo 44 kg category competitions in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Ali lost to Georgia’s Ana Japaridze, who won the match by superiority.
The Egyptian athlete defeated Kenya’s Neema Stency Obonyo 12/3 in the round of 16, lost to Mongolia’s Surenjav Ulambayar 5/7 in the quarterfinal before beating Kazakhstan’s Milana Krassavtseva 8/1 in the consolation round for kg 52 to the bronze medal match.
