DALLAS — Egypt’s national football team wrapped up its preparations for Friday’s Round of 32 clash against Australia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with captain Mohamed Salah taking part in the final training session.
The session, held in Dallas, was overseen by head coach Hossam Hassan and his twin brother Ibrahim Hassan.
Salah trained with the squad, while Mohamed Abdelmonem and Ahmed Fattouh continued their rehabilitation programmes.
Before training began, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) board, the coaching staff, and the players offered their condolences to assistant coach Tareq Soliman following the death of his brother.
The session was attended by Egypt’s Consul in Houston, Sherif Mokhtar, who was welcomed by EFA President Hany Abo Rida, Vice President Khaled El-Darandaly, head of Egypt’s World Cup delegation, and board members Mohamed El-Shorbiny, Mostafa Abou Zahra, Mohamed Abou Hussein, and Tareq Abu El-Enein.
Egypt booked their place in the Round of 32 after finishing second in Group G with five points, level with group winners Belgium but behind on goal difference.
