Liverpool Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah and UAE’s forward Ali Mabkhot have been nominated, among other footballers, for the 2021 International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) World’s Best Player Award.
At the end of November, the IFFHS will declare the winners of the 2021 awards in all categories.
The two players are competing three other Arab players; Algerian Riyad Mahrez of Manchester City, Moroccan Achraf Hakimi of Paris Saint-Germain and Qatari Akram Afif of Al Sadd.
The full list of nominees also includes 26 other players, notably Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi and Manchester United Forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
