Egyptian weightlifting powerhouse Rehab Ahmed Radwan continued her dominance at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, claiming gold medal on Thursday.
In a thrilling showdown, Radwan secured the top spot in the women’s 55kg category, further solidifying Egypt’s position as a leading force in Paralympic sports.
Lifting a total of 121kg across her first two attempts, Radwan narrowly edged out her Turkish rival, Besra Duman, who was unable to match the Egyptian’s impressive performance. This victory marks Radwan’s third Paralympic medal, having previously won silver at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Games.
Radwan’s achievement comes on the heels of her fellow Egyptian weightlifter, Mohamed El-Minyawi, who earlier in the day secured gold in the men’s 59kg category.
The duo’s exceptional performances have elevated Egypt’s standing at the Paris Paralympics and inspired athletes and fans alike.
As the Egyptian Paralympic team continues to excel on the world stage, the nation eagerly awaits further victories and celebrates the remarkable accomplishments of its talented athletes.
