TOKYO – The board of directors of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, chaired by Hisham Hatab, congratulated Egypt’s Olympic handball team on qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, MENA reported.
Egypt advanced to the quarter-finals of the men’s Olympic handball tournament with a 27-22 victory over Sweden on Friday.
The Pharaohs are now second in Group B with six points, even on points with Denmark who are at the top of the group.
The Olympic committee’s board of directors praised the Egyptian players’ performance in the tournament, wishing them good luck in their upcoming matches.
In the last game of the group phase, Egypt will take on Bahrain, with an eye on one of the first two places, while Sweden to face reigning Olympic champions Denmark in a rematch of the final of the IHF Men’s World Championship 2021.
