CAIRO— Al-Ahly men’s volleyball team clinched the title of the 41st Arab Clubs Volleyball Championship for the eighth time in history after defeating Bahrain’s Al-Nasr Club 3-0.
The Masters dominated the game from the start and had the upper hand in the final to win the match on three straight sets (25-21, 25-9, 25-19).
The Red Devils’ performance in the final was another masterclass from the players who secured the title after winning all their games in the competition.
“It is a fantastic night for the team. The players were under much pressure after playing seven games in just 10 days but they delivered,” Al-Ahly technical coach Mohamed Mselhy said.
“We have a great group of players and they were outstanding.
“We started the season with the domestic Super Cup title and we added the Arab Clubs Championship title. We want to win every competition this season,” Mselhy explained.
“I would like to dedicate this title to our loyal fans. Our fans are our main supporters and we promise them that we will do everything to make them happy,” Ahl’s captain Abdullah Abdelsalam said after the match.
“We were determined to win the title and our players showed a fighting spirit that guided us to victory,” Abdelsalam added.
“It is always important to win such prestigious titles. Last season was not a perfect year and I am happy that we managed to have a strong start to this season,” Al-Ahly’s player Ahmed Salah noted.
“We have an amazing group and we will fight to win every title this season.”
