CAIRO – The 10th week of the 2023-24 Egyptian Premier League season saw Enppi, NBE Club, Al-Ittihad, Smouha and ZED FC claimed wins as Ceramica Cleopatra, Future, Pyramids FC and Al-Ahly clashes postponed due to their participations in the in the Egyptian Super Cup in Abu Dhabi.
At Arab Contractors Stadium, newly promoted side ZED FC rallied to beat El-Dakhleya 3-1.
ZED FC took the lead in the 45+6′ minutes through striker Shady Hussein with a brilliant curling effort inside a crowded penalty area as they went into the break ahead.
The newly promoted side controlled the early minutes of the second-half in an attempt to add second goal, but without any danger.
In the 66th minutes, ZED’s left-winger player Moustafa Ziko knocked in a second from a smart pass from team-mate Walid Adel and unleashed a quite stunning strike.
Defender Mohamed Samir netted the third in the 73rd minutes, shooting though the legs of El-Dakhleya’s goalkeeper Mahmoud el-Zanfaly.
El-Dakhleya’s attacking midfielder Mohab Yasser scored his side’s sole goal from the penalty spo in the 85th minutes.
The win pushed ZED FC temporary to lead the domestic league standing with 19 points from nine matches – two points ahead of Pyramids FC who has a match in hand.
Pyramids FC sit now at second place with 17 points from eight matches. They have a match in hand against Arab Contractors.
El-Dakhleya dropped into 16th place with seven points from 10 matches.
At Alexandria stadium, Smouha snatched a 1-0 victory over Talae el-Geish.
The game sole goal came from striker Hossam Hassan in the 32nd minutes from the penalty spot.
The result left Smouha in fourth place with 16 points from 10 matches as Talae el-Geish remained in 9th place with 14 points from 10 games.
Ceramica Cleopatra clash against Al-Masry of Port Said, Modern Future tie against Ismaili and Zamalek match against Al-Ahly all postponed due to their participations in the in the Egyptian Super Cup in Abu Dhabi.
At Alexandria Stadium, Al-Ittihad of Alexandria defeated newly promoted side Pharco FC 3-1.
Al-Ittihad opened the scoring through attacking midfielder Abdelghani Mohamed in the 16th minutes.
Ghanaian striker Benjamin Boateng added the second for Alexandrian based side in the 24st minutes.
Newly promoted side forward Saif Thierry of Sudan made it 2-1 with a shot to the bottom right corner in the 52nd minutes.
In the dying moments of the match, Al-Ittihad’s captain Khaled el-Ghandour netted the third.
Al-Ittihad of Alexandria currently is fifth with 15 points from eight games, while Pharco FC is at the bottom of the table with 5 points from 10 matches.
At El-Gouna Stadium, Enppi snatched a 2-1 victory over El-Gouna.
Enppi seemed on course for victory when midfielder Mohamed Hamdi gave them the lead in the 8th minutes.
Moroccan winger Ahmed Belhadji netted the equaliser for El-Gouna in the 78th minutes with a brilliant curling effort inside a crowded penalty area.
Right-winger Ahmed Nader Hawash snatched the winner for the Petroleum side in the 86th minutes.
The victory left the Petroleum side to third place with 16 points from 10 matches as El-Gouna dropped into 10th place with 13 points from nine games.
At Ghazel el-Mahalla Stadium, NBE Club beat Baladeyet el-Mahalla 2-0.
Striker Osama Faisalopened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 68th minutes as Centre-back player Saido Simpore netted the second in the 84th minutes to secure his side’s three precious points.
The result pushed NBE Club to 17th place with six points from 10 matches as Baladeyet el-Mahalla dropped to 13th place with 10 points from nine games.
