CAIRO — Pyramids clinched a dramatic victory over El-Gouna, while Al-Ahly dropped more points, being held to a goalless draw by Enppi in the seventh round of the 2024-2025 Egyptian Premier League.
At El-Gouna Stadium, Pyramids secured a crucial win with a dramatic last-gasp goal in stoppage time.
Striker Dodo El-Gabbas initially found the net in the fourth minute of added time, but referee Mohamed el-Sabahi disallowed the goal following a VAR review, which revealed a foul by forward Fiston Mayele in the buildup.
However, El-Gabbas redeemed himself with a stunning strike from outside the penalty area in the 99th minute, securing victory for his side in the dying moments.
The win lifted Pyramids to 14 points, placing them second behind Zamalek on goal difference after seven matches. Pyramids recorded four wins, two draws, and one loss, scoring 10 goals and conceding five.
In contrast, El-Gouna remained on six points after six matches, with one win, three draws, and two losses. The team has scored just one goal while conceding three.
At the Arab Contractors Stadium, defending champions Al-Ahly was held to a goalless draw against Enppi, dropping two valuable points in their pursuit of the Egyptian Premier League’s top spot.
The result raised Al-Ahly’s tally to 12 points, placing them third behind leaders Zamalek and second-placed Pyramids FC. Enppi, meanwhile, moved to 6 points, occupying 15th place in the standings.
The draw marked Al-Ahly’s third stalemate in six matches this season, following previous draws against Al-Ittihad of Alexandria in the third week and NBE Club in the fourth week.
Despite creating several scoring opportunities, Al-Ahly was unable to find the back of the net. The Petroleum side came closest to secure a surprise victory in the 88th minute when they were awarded a penalty for a handball by defender Yasser Ibrahim. However, Ahmed Kalosha failed to capitalize, sending his shot over the crossbar.
The match ended in a frustrating stalemate for Al-Ahly, underscoring their inefficiency in front of goal and Enppi’s resilience in defense.
At Cairo International Stadium, ZED FC and Petrojet played out a dramatic 1-1 draw, with both teams finding the net in the dying moments of the match.
Forward Islam Hesham gave Petrojet the lead in the 89th minute, capitalizing on a costly mistake by ZED FC center-back Mohamed Ismail. An attempted back pass to goalkeeper Ali Lotfy fell short, allowing Hesham to intercept and slot the ball into the net.
ZED FC equalized in the 96th minute through striker Shady Hussein, salvaging a point in the dying moments of the game.
Petrojet’s goalkeeper, Omar Salah, delivered an outstanding performance, making three crucial saves to deny ZED FC and keeping his team in contention.
The draw lifted ZED FC to 10 points, placing them sixth in the standings after seven matches, while Petrojet remained in eighth with 9 points from the same number of games.

Smouha took the lead in the 20th minute when midfielder Mahmoud Saber made a precise pass to Beninese defensive midfielder Dokou Dodo, who fired a clinical shot from inside the penalty area into the back of the net.
Pharco FC equalized in the 54th minute when forward Amr Nasser confidently converted a penalty, placing the ball to the right of goalkeeper El-Hani Soliman.
The decisive moment came in the 81st minute when Moroccan winger Zouhair el-Moutaraji unleashed a shot from outside the box. The ball deflected off a defender and returned to him, allowing him to fire a left-footed effort into the net, securing the win for Pharco.
