CAIRO – Al-Ahly, Aswan, Enppi and Al-Masry of Port Said claimed victories in their matches in the 11th matchday of the 2022/2023 Egyptian Premier League.
At Cairo International Stadium, Al-Ahly returned back to the winning ways after claiming an impressive 3-0 win over Pyramids FC to move back to the top of the table.
Midfielder Amr el-Sulaya scored twice in the 19th and 79th minutes, as winger Hussein el-Shahat added the third in the injury time 90+4.
The Red Devils now have 27 points from 11 matches; three points ahead of Zamalek, as Pyramids FC remained at 4th place in the 18-team table on 20 points from 11 matches.
At Aswan Stadium, Aswan stunned defending champions Zamalek 2-1.
The Newly promoted side’s goals came from Zamalek’s defender Mohamed Abdel-Ghani in the 5th minute and striker Dilson in the 45+2 minute.
Defender Hossam Abdel-Meguid scored the White Knights’s sole goal in the 56th minute.
The victory pushed Aswan into 7th place with 15 points from 11 matches as Zamalek dropped into second place with 24 points from 11 games.
At the Army Stadium in Borg el-Arab, Enppi beat Al-Ittihad of Alexandria 2-1.
Ahmed Amin opened the scoring for the Petroleum side in the 32nd minute as Rafik Kabou added the second in the 67th minute.
The Alexandrian-based club sole goal came from Angolan centre-forward Mabululu in the 84th minute.
The win lifted Enppi into 12th place with 10 points from 11 matches as Al-Ittihad of Alexandria remained in 6th place with 18 points from 11 games.
At Suez Stadium, Al-Masry of Port Said snatched a 1-0 victory over Al-Dakhleya.
The match sole goal came from striker Marwan Hamdi in the 38h minute.
The result pushed Al-Masry of Port Said to 8th place with 14 points from 11 games as Al-Dakhleya stayed in 16th place with 8 points from 11 matches.
