PARIS — The Egyptian Olympic mission arrived in Paris to stand on ongoing arrangements for Egypt’s participation in the Olympic Games Paris 2024, due to take place from July 26 to August 11.
The mission’s first group is scheduled to leave on July 21, while the second and third groups will leave on July 23 and 24.
The official group, according to MENA, will depart on July 25. It will include Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi, President of the Egyptian Olympic Committee Yasser Idris, Head of Egypt’s mission Alaa Gabr, and Secretary-General of the Egyptian Olympic Committee Sherif El Erian.
The Egyptian mission participates with 148 male and female athletes and 16 substitute players, with a total number of 164 players in 22 sports.
Egypt first participated at the Olympic Games in 1912, and has sent athletes to compete in most editions of the Summer Olympic since then.
Egyptian athletes have won a total of 38 medals, eight gold, 11 silver and 19 bronze, with weightlifting as the top medal-producing sport.
